Getting Started
Let us spend a little time and effort to learn how to make money the easy way. All it takes is a general understanding about the stock market, a few basic principles and a few dollars that you have saved. The amount of wealth is totally up to you.
"But, I don’t have any money!" Excuses, excuses… What are you going to do this weekend? Go out to a bar and spend 20, 30, maybe 50 dollars? Go out to a movie and pizza? 40 dollars? Go out to dinner, a hockey game and out drinking later? 100 dollars plus.
Well, come on. Let’s get real! You really do have the money. Let us start you out saving a days pay per week. Just give it a try for one month. Also, do not spend any of your pocket change. Every time you buy something, break a bill every time and put the change in a jar. It will be surprising at the end of a month! Just be careful that your 6 year old son doesn’t apprehend the quarters for his foosball fund like mine does!
Well. Now that we are starting to save a few dollars, the hardest part has already begun. Remember: That is why you are learning this concept to begin with. Now I will be quite frank with you. If you are not interested yet, or cannot practice these basic saving principles, give this book to a friend and do them a favor!
Great, we have over come the first two major obstacles, saving and desire! Now let’s get on with it.
Stop and think for a minute about your future. What do you want or need? Get out a pen and let us get started! To days date is ___________.
Want a house ? Yes? How big? 3000 sf?
New car? Yes? What Kind? Truck? Motorcycle?
More furniture? Living room? Dining room? Bed room?
Ski Boat? Bass Boat? Fishing Boat?
How about a motor home? Sports car?
Want to go back to college? AA? BA? MA? PHD?
Want children? They are expensive!
When do you want to retire? Age? Where?
How much do you think you will spend? Month? Year?
Now we are getting somewhere! All of these will need to be financed some way. Now, let’s go out on a limb for a while.
How about a two story, 5 bedroom, 4500 square foot house on 20 acres with a four car garage. A Jeep, BMW or a Benz, Corvette, Pickup truck, bass boat and a Harley Davidson. Learn to fly your new Cessna 172, cruise Alaska and vacation in Hawaii. Anything is possible, let your imagination run wild. These are the goals to work for; the sky is the limit. Nobody is stopping you but yourself.
